Ghana Takes a Step Towards Energy Independence with the Launch of Oil Refinery

Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, recently commissioned the Sentuo Oil Refinery in Tema on January 26, 2024. The two million barrels per annum refinery is a significant step towards the country’s industrialization agenda, representing a collaboration between the public and private sectors.

The refinery, built by a private Chinese company, is expected to provide a stable supply of petroleum products, create employment opportunities, empower local communities, and drive investment in related industries.
